h2b and power steering in a eg
i'm thinking of doing a h2b swap in my sedan no i know you cant have the power steering pump on the motor it wont fit and you have to machine the crank pulley which removes the belt for it. but is there any type of electrical pump that would be able to flow enough to make the power steering work?
hey- my B16a2 turbo uses a top mount turbo- so i had to get shut of the power steering pump.
Im using the somewhat rare electro hydraulic pump from the Toyota MR2 import, i got rid of all its speed and angle sensing electronics as i dont want the steering sensation to be changing from speed and corner to corner.
Theres a company here in the uk called 4QD, i bought their UNI-8 speed controller, along with a 10k pot mounted in my dashboard i can adjust the duty cycle of the speed controller- making the steering heavier/lighter.
All i had to do was have some high pressure lines fabricated- decided to fit a proper fluid cooler whilst i was at it- i researched that on track the power steering system is one of the most common failures due to fluid temp.
Hope this helps
