Default h23 losing power

hi im new..well not really. just to this forum. some of you might know me...im on various boards and a prelude and detailing moderator on couple of em.

anyways,

i have a 93 prelude si with about 71k on it.
heres the list of troubles that i've been having. maybe a month ago the car started dying at low rpms and then just died whenever. it lost power as well. it turned out to be a bad ignitor and i promptly got it replaced. now the car just has no power. it feels like i have a f22a1 again (i had an accord once...) and not a 160hp h23. feels like i lost 30-40hp. all my bottom end power is gone.

the engine tone is deeper and growlier and not as smooth. also, the temperature gauge and idle are sort of messed up. sometimes it'll take maybe 10 minutes to be fully warmed up and sometimes i will drive 30 minutes and it still wont be warmed up. my valves need to be adjusted as well but that wouldent account for that much power loss. (btw..i adjusted them a while ago and now they need readjusting already? the old owner didnt adjust the valves probably?)

i've replaced
-spark plugs,
-dis. cap
-dis. rotor
-ignitor

im going to replace the spark plug wires soon. the valves are really loud when its cold and its still abnormally loud when warm...but they wouldent account for that much power loss..sigh. this bothers me a lot.

does anyone have any ideas? thanks

check the compression with a compression test or a leak down. you might have a bent valve or piston rings.

If the distributor was removed when the igniter was replaced it may not have been reinstalled in the same position which could cause your ignition timing to be out of spec. Improper ignition timing could cause the symptoms you describe. Worth checking anyway.
