h22a7 crank regrind
Hi all, i'm currently getting bits together to build a turbo h22 for my accord type r. nothing major just a good solid 350 bhp would be good. i have a spare block and crank that i want to use but one of the journals has slight marks from a bearing that started to let go. iv'e spoken to a few engineering shops that said it will be fine to polish out but a Honda specialist over here said they wouldn't entertain it and i should get a new one. now these are quite pricey to get and even a good second hand one is like hens teeth due to the rarity of the engine.
how many people have reground/polished there h22 cranks and have they been fine afterwards?
is there a max that can be taken off before going through some sort of hardened surface?
the rest of the crank is spotless bar this 1 journal so i'm keep to use it if i can.
any info would be great and thanks for any help you give, i tried a search but didn't find the info i wanted
