Default h22a4 and AEM EMS Help!

Hey everyone im looking at purchasing an ems system for my 00' h22a4 going into my 99' hatch, but I have a couple questions.

If im running the obd2a motor in the obd2b car which version should i get? should i go with the 30-1010 which is for obd2b, or since i have a conversion harness go with obd1, or does that even matter.

also, do i have to use a laptop or can i use a regular computer to mess with it?

thanks
charles

You might as well buy the EMS that corresponds to whatever wiring harness is in your car (you can sell the conversion harness). Yes, you will need a laptop. And yes, if you buy the EMS, you will need to thoroughly read and re-read every tech article and instructional .pdf AEM has to offer. You should also buy a wideband o2 sensor kit. It takes a lot of time and dedication to learn and effectively use a standalone. Take any shortcuts and your engine will pay the price
