H22 will go in but there are some downsides. The added weight the shifter issues and the like. Check out http://www.hasport.com they have a bolt in kit for this. Call and talk to their techs, they've aways been really helpful. They'll give you the skinny.
I'm not sure, but I think that combination will only use 3 of the H22As 4 motor mounts. There have been many Civic/H22 hybrids though, so it certainly can be done. I also think it's impossable to keep A/C and power steering (if you care for those) without major fabrication.
Yeah it will fit in a Civic, but you will have little room in the engine bay. I have a friend who is getting an H22 in a Civic Hx right now.

go with the b18. fits right in. by the time you pay for the h22 and install, you'll make out around the same price. yeah, 1.8 vs. 2.2, but 195hp(1.8) or 200hp(2.2). plus with the h22, you'll have more weight, more under steer, no ac, and no power steering. if those matter to you. an lsd tranny will help with the understeer, but it takes some great customizing ot get ac and ps back. if 5hp matters...h22 it. but if it don't and you want a lot less work...b18 it.

hey thanks. I am just thinking really hard about swapping and I want to go for the best if i'm gonna spend that kinda money. I'm thinking the b18c-r then adding a turbo to that possibly. I just want to know everyones opinion on this cause I've never done anything like this nor do I know anyone who has. I figure go ***** out right. anyone with some other good ideas or helpful hints feel free to throw them my way.
this is what i was looking at
97+ B18C-R Engine
• 1800cc (1.8L) DOHC Vtec
• 197hp @ 8000 rpm
• 134 ft-lbs @ 7500 rpm
• 11.0 compression ratio.
• Hydro tranny type w/ LSD. $4850 US

Oh course I'm a big fan of the H22 to pull around my heavy car, but I know of two EG hybrids... one a H22A the other a B18C5. They're both putting down over 220 HP to the wheels and both run mid 12s.
you know when you try to coast coming off the freeway?... you'll get my "drift"...
on an h22, there's a lot of understeer, your suspension also needs a lot of research when you do a swap likw this. just a thought.
