What ecu are you using?

The most popular are probably the CBR coils, the AEM coils and the K series RSX-s coils. It depends on the ecu/ignition configuration you are using though.

I was thinking cbr. just wondered if they were long enough!
I'm going to be using an emerald k6 ecu. UK company.

The site you linked for the ECU does not tell you enough info about the ignition drivers other than there is 6 of them.

CBR coils are dumb 2 wire coils so you will probably need a CDI. Other than that small detail you will also want to find out if the ECU can work of both falling edge and rising edge triggers.

In my opinion if you use the CBR coils you should notch the valvecover. They are just a tad short for my tastes, but when you notch/clearance the lip around the hole in the valvecover they will fully snap onto the plug. You also have to use a plug that has a screw off top on it.

The K coils are a good option if you do not wish to run a CDI box, as long as the ecu will work with those.

I would recommend K-series factory smart coils. They are a perfect fit and even the factory plug cover fits over them. Being they have build in ignitor, it will not need any external ignition module. They will defiantly have enough spark energy for high rpm NA setups or high boost turbo setups!

For cam/crank pickup, I have had great luck with the AEM EPM. This unit replaces the factory distributor and utilizes dual zero-speed optical sensors capable of transmitting accurate and immediate signal regardless of engine speed! Not to mention it can be used with any aftermarket engine management system that can read the common 24 & 1 pattern for crank and cam signals. Hit me up if you need one of these!

Here is a picture of one of our clients "Big Mike" with his all motor F20B Prelude who is utilizing K-series smart coils and an AEM EPM.
