gsr swap problems
i bought this gsr swapped eg sedan for like $750. non running. all it needed was a dizzy. swapped the dizzy and started first crank. so far i’ve changed the plugs, plug wires, knock sensor, dizzy, alternator belt, valve cover, vtec solenoid, coolant. after the plugs and wires it started driving a lot better. it was in limp mode until i changed knock sensor. it was still somewhat limp but revved to 6k after knock sensor. after plugs and wires it revs up to 8600 or so. but the problem is that it won’t hit vtec. it’s struggling after 5k in 1st gear and struggles the rest of the gears. the guy i bought it from did the swap, it seems like a proper swap except for the vtec issue. he said vtec never really worked so he had the vtec solenoid wired to the horn. i put a new vtec solenoid hoping it would fix it and delete that dumb setup but it still hasent. i’m not sure what route to take. any advice would be helpful.
