Default GSR mani on B16....

Has anyone ever fitted a dual stage GSR manifold unto a B16? The idea is pretty interesting, but Im not sure it will fit. If it did, it might just help out the measly low end of the B16. Opinions? Experiance?

Can it be made to fit with minor adjustments? The idea of the secondaries and vtec kicking in at around the same time sounds appealing to me...

You will not be able to bolt the GSR intake manifold up to the B16 head...it will not bolt up correctly and the coolant passage do not match up. Your best bet is just go up on displacement, whether it's sleeve/bore, or get a GSR shortblock, or the ever popular LS/VTEC route. There are cams such as JUN 3 or Skunk cams, that will help, but not to the extend of longer strokes.

Dang. Yea, ill just have to bore it out to 1.8L. I dont want the GSR block becuase of the (comparativly) poor rod ratio. I want just trying to get the best of everything, should have known better.

B17 crank with a small overbore (not sure what size... but this makes a 1.8 with a B16's RS ratio)

not to mention the B16 ECU wouldn't have the correct fuel maps, and it would be a major headache to try to get the manifold butterflys working, and coming on at the right time.

oh and you would be adding a LOT of weight.

I consider ALOT of weight 100lbs. This is ten extra. not too big of a deal. Oh, and the b17 crank has a rod ratio of 1.6XXX:1, not the ideal 1.74-75:1 of the B16. Its not a big deal, does anyone know what the displacement would be for a b16 bored to 84mm?
