Default Grounding issue? HELP!

I've got the symptoms of what seems to be a bad ground, but i cant figure it out. I did a type r short block swap into my car last week, and then realized my clutch was bad. So this weekend, i pulled the tranny and replaced the clutch. I drove the car today for the first time, and the speedo and tach jump all over the place. There seems to be a rev limiter around 3900 sometimes, 2400 other times, and it runs like **** with a load on it. When i hit around 2500-3000 while driving, the car will shake violently, hit a rev limiter, and the CEL will flash. Also, i think i heard a ticking noise from the ECU. It also gets worse when i turn my headlights on. Oh, and it should be noted that the car dies randomly at idle after a couple min of idling and it also had a hard time starting up one time..

I figured it was from doing the clutch swap, so i checked everything around the tranny. I got a new bolt for the tranny ground, and i used a wire brush on the connections. I pulled off the starter ground and re plugged it in. I took off the battery ground from the battery and reconnected it tighter. Still no luck at all with anything.

Could it be the ignitor module? Main Relay?? Bad ground somewhere that im not thinking of??

Also, i realized tonight that the thermostat housing was loose on the block, and i couldnt get the long bolt to thread in. Since the ecu ground is connected to the thermostat housing, could that have anything to do with it? Any ideas????

Help me figure this out and get this running and maybe i'll paypal you a couple bucks

yes the theromstat housing could deffinatly be the problem. but iwould check the code first sounds like a deffective vss to me. when you did the cluch you could have damamged the vss sensor just by moving the transmission. Not your fault it might have been ready to go then all the moving around could have helped it have an internal short or open.

There is no CEL - it just flashes really quick when it hits the "rev limiter"
