I have a GSR in my ek hatch, the tranny keeps grinding into third when flooring it, but doesnt do it under light to moderate acceleration. (I do have a short shifter)

 

do u have a gsr tranny or b16 tranny. i ask cause most b16 tranny's grind. n e ways u can use syncromesh at any autozone it will band-aid the problem(stop grinding for awhile). once u have enough money saved up get a new tranny or replace ur syncro's

 

most B16s grind? What kind of statement is that? They share the IDENTICAL sleeve set for 3rd and 4th gear.


Perhaps its just beat to ****???? Rebuild it

 

i read somewhere(damn weed)that the b16 tranny shares the same ratios as itr tranny but the syncros r weaker.once my brain cells come back ill post it up

 

correct me if im wrong but i think your speed gear that meshes with the acutal syncro is round off from wear in tear. The problem you have is call a pop out

THEY ARE IDENTICAL!!! 100% TRUTH! b16 syncro is just as good as type r.
