Default Got a tuning question with HOndata

hey i gotta question about wideband tuning. a couple things. Well first off i understand that you hook up a wideband to read air/fuel ratio but thats it. How do you know where to add and take away fuel? It seems to me that you would have to have an accurate reading come up on a computer along with RPMS's so you know exactly where to add it right? well does a wideband 02 run in conjunction with my Hondata? im lost on that. i would just like to have an idea of how it all works. thanks

How did i know that was going to happen. I read everything on that site already. Can you hook a wideband to run in with the hondata with datalogging so it shows RPms and A/F on the same chart? Or does someone just look at the RPM's and a seperate A/F guage?

You can do either, but I'll tell you right now that datalogging the AFR's is a helluva lot easier.

The only other reasonable way to do it would be with a loading dyno in conjunction with the map trace feature. You hold the engine at a certain rpm/load cell, settle/measure the AFR, and then make changes.

That link provides a step by step spoon-fed narrationof how to tune a speed-density based EMS in conjunction with a wideband.
