Some people will sell you one for $250 while others might let it go for $100. The price varies on those because everyone wants it and the only place you are probably going to find a stock one is a junkyard.

Junk yards want like 200 atleast... half of them want a core as a replacement plus 190 bucks or so.

Ridiculous!

well I have an option for you. If you can find an OBD1 non-vtec ecu with this board number:

I can reprogram it to SOHC or DOHC VTEC, stock or race specs. IM me if you're interested (my email is broken right now).

Newbie Q but what does the p28 ecu do? what kind of increases in hp?
The p28, p30, and other OBD1 ECUs can be swapped over to OBD2 vehicles with a wiring harness and a little work. This allows for modification of your ECU as the OBD2 ECUs are unchippable.

It's just an alternate ecu to use, once its reprogrammed, for a DOHC VTEC engine. They're easier to find/locate vs. a genuine DOHC VTEC ecu. The hp increase on a stock/unchipped P28 is actually losing HP, since the ecu is orginally made for a SOHC VTEC ecu....meaning it will run lean since its orginally designed for a smaller engine. Once chipped with a worthy DOHC VTEC program, the P28 will match or surpass that of a genuine stock DOHC VTEC ecu, but in contrast, if you use the same exact program on a genuine DOHC VTEC ecu & a P28 ecu, both will run exactly the same since they're both using the same program.

Confused yet ?
