got issues with z6.........HELP!!! PLEEEEEAAASSEEE!
ok so some friends an i put a z6 swap from a friends car into my si, but we have a little problem, the motor wont rev over 2k, it idles fine
i have
-changed spark plugs
-changed fuel injectors
-checked timing just to make sure
-changed distributors
tried all these things and with no luck, and i ruled out fuel pump because its still giving the motor fuel so it cant be that.... anybody got any ideas, its throwin 4 codes, but 2 of em are o2 and vtec, witch are not hooked up and the other two are iat witch i changed so it shouldnt even be there and coolant sensor witch is not hooked up cause on the wiring harness i had it didnt have it for some odd *** reason...and the motor i guess ran fine befor i got it, any ideas guys?

I would say not having the o2 and iat sensors hooked-up could be the issue! Also, the fact that your harness 'supposedly' doesn't have them, makes me think something is screwy there...

My car runs pretty crappy with the O2 unplugged. I would say fix those sensor problems, especially the O2 and coolant temp, and see if that helps your situation.
see i know it wouild run a little rough, but it wont rev over 2 grand!!!! like its hittin the rev limit, and those sensors would have nothing to do with that

A friend of mine had the exact same problem, I'm going to gurantee that your IACV and PCV valve are swited around. They are the same plug and all and you get a pulsating 12+ volt going to PCV which will probably cause this. Try switching them around and see what happenes. One other thing I would check your wiring colors and see what plugs are going where
the plugs should be fine but i never thought about that iac and pvc ill go try that in a bit.... its the weirdest damn problem i hate it!!!!!

Sounds as if you got the Tps and the Map sensor plugs switched around

Backstep.....get those codes cleared out ..vtec...coolant ...iat...and o2 if you can.
Make sure each sensor plug is in the correct location ! ..including the injectors
I sounds like somethins mixed up or even a ground issue.
