Ok I got a D16A1 complete motor without tranny for a good price. Well I have read about the pistons being put in the D16Y8 and such, but what esle can I use off this motor? Will the rods work? If so are they stronger? Is the A1 block any better then the Y8? Let me know what I can use and also do you think I could sell the head for anything?

I dont think there is really much difference at all in the strength of the rods/block, but you are correct in using the pistons. In a y8 it should raise your compression to 11 or 12:1 I think. You may want to check out dseries.org, they have a great tech section on use of different d series parts throughout the different engines.
