Default good question about OBD in LSVTEC.

building an LSVTEC.

got an OBD2 head, OBD2 block. but obviously going to run OBD1 ECU.

qeustions are, should i get OBD 1 or 2 for the following:

Distributor
power steering pump
oil pump
Alternator
water pump

stuff like that, does it matter at all? any thing else you might be able to think of let mek now, trying to buy all the stuff now, thanks.

ok just go with the obd1 its better for you... as for your oil pump doesn't matter obd1 or 2(gsr or b16 or itr), starter shouldn't matter at all as long as its the bseries.. all the swaps for lsvtec i've done you lose P/S but i'm pretty sure theres some people on HT that knows how to recover that.. the dissy of course you will go with OBD1.. ALTERNATOR obd1.... water pump just get the LS one... obd1 or 2... you will use a LS timing belt.. you can use your wiring harness if you like but good luck on rewiring it..."extending"

why would i use an LS timing belt and water pump on a vtec head?

and why would i not use PS? wouln't you just hook it up and run it with the normal engine belt like any other engine?

the PS bracket wont line up you'll see once you do it... LS timing belt because of the LS WATER PUMP... if you use a GSR water pump use a GSR timing belt... use a b16 water pump use b16 timing belt...

I used the upper ps bracket that bolts to the head off of a gsr and it worked just fine

i mean this.

without power steering, i'll need a smaller engine belt... so, how big compared to stock?

also, without power steering, wont that free up horsepower? now that there is nothing resisting the belt?
