Getting wheels\tires mounted and balanced?
I'm about to order rims and tires from 2 diff places so I have to get them mounted and balanced myself. Are most places able to safely handle 16+ wheels? I remember bringing my old 17s to goodyear to get it plugged and they put a few scratches on the polished lip with their machine. Do most riceboy shops mount and balance or what? I'm in central NJ btw, if anyone can recommend a place for me

i don't know where you can take it, but you should call around your local service shops (shouldn't charge you much more than $10/wheel for mounting and balancing) and ask if they mount ____ (insert sidewall size) tires. the rim diameter is not the issue with mounting tires. i've mounted lots of passenger car tires at school, but i broke part of the tire mounter because i was trying to mount a 50 series tire on a 15 inch rim. the problem comes in the lack of flexibility in the sidewall when you get into higher performance tires. trying to do my 40's was a joke. just call around for prices.
