Default getting oem bumpstop off

is there any magic to getting the oem bumpstop off the strut cartridge? I have a 2000 EX coupe and am putting konis on.. I noticed when I changed the spring that the washer above the bumpstop looked snug and I didn't try to move it. was just wondering what is involved in taking off the oem bumpstop
thanks

You can smack the tapered washer with the edge of a work bench or try to knock it off with a hammer- some kind of abrupt shock will get it off.

Spray that washer with some liquid wrench, let it sit a minute then you can probally take it off with your hand. If that doesn't work, smack it with a hammer or wrench.
