my gauge cluster light isnt working on my 92 hatch and im pretty sure its the gauge cluster itself but not 100% sure. i swapped out a dimmer switch with a buddy and its not that and all fuses are in tact. i took the gauge cluster out and it tested fine for voltage on all points and checked all the bulbs and none seem to be blown. i would assume the switch to turn the lights on isnt the issue because my headlights and tail lights work fine.

my question is to see if their is anything else i can test before i go out and buy another gauge cluster???

I have the same problem in my 93 eg. But not only don't the cluster lights not work but all the interior lights in the climate controls don't turn on either. Fuses are all intact. Solution? New cluster?

 

damn your issue seems way worse then mine. im gonna order a new cluster with my next paycheck and get back with you guys...

 

swapped out my cluster for another one.. now everything works! backlight and climate control. guess it was just a bad cluster. thought it was the dimmer switch.. i even ordered one.
