Default gas mileage is crap!

i have a b17a1 motor in my ek and ever since i had the motor swapped in my car i have had horrible gas mileage and the check engine light has been on since day 1. im running obd1. i was wondering which o2 sensor is the one being read by the ecu? the one on the exhaust manifold or the one on the cat? or does obd1 read both o2's? ive tooken my car to a shop, and they ran it through diagnostics but they came up with a code that wasnt in the book so if anyone has any ideas on why my car is wasting so much gas i would greatly appreciate the info thanx. and if it's the o2 sensor which o2 is it? manifold or cat?

OBD1 should only have one o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold. OBD2 should have 2 o2 sensors which are on the exhaust manifold and cat.
Also is the ECU that you are using OBD1 or OBD2?
Another option is could it just be that you need some maintenance like spark plugs, oil change, fuel filter, etc......

im running an obd1 ecu but my car is an ek so it's originally obd2 but im running a jumper/harness for obd1. and i doubt it the oil and spark plugs and stuff i keep those up to date. so since im obd1 the manifold o2 sensor is the only one being read right?
