I think my Alternator is dying. It can keep my car going but cant recharge my battery. Voltage is never higher than 12.0 volts when driving either. Had it tested at Autozone and they said it was boarderline. Brand new Optima battery.

Its only 4 years old, and 70k miles. Any Ideas?

Can I drop the alternator without having the remove the driver side half shaft? It would be fairly easy to replace the alt if I could avoid that step.
