I normally take my car to the track, but I have been called out on the street so I figured I'd give this car a try on the street. The car makes over 550+whp and weighs 2100 with driver. The only tire that I have is a 25x8.5x13 slick to be able to hook.
Can I run these slicks, if so what should the tire pressure be? The race will be from a 40mph and I will only be driving on the slick during the race. I will be on a street tire to and from the race to the house. I know the risk as in they are thin and might puncture, but this road is freshly paved and clean.

um i dont think you should be asking that question here for the sole purpose that we do not condone such acts as slicks are for TRACK purposes only not street.
that tire size is fine. should have a tad more pressure you would if you were from a dig.
AS LONG AS PEOPLE AINT AROUND THOUGH....COULD BE MEH BABY AND BABY MOMMA ON THE ROAD.........

I was thinking about 15-20psi and its from a 40 roll, so it wont be from a dig. It will be really late at night on a new highway that has no cars.

Well the race has been called off since his car is not running right. The man called me out and his car was not even ready, but we are all going to the track in three weeks.
Nope, they're not approved by the DOT. For good reason, too...try driving in the rain or on a dirty road with slicks. There are street legal drag radials, but of course they aren't slicks.
And that's the way it should be!
