Default Fuel System Vacum

Whenever I go to fill up my 94 Sol's gas tank and the gas tank level is low, I notice that when I take off the gas cap that the fuel tank is under a partial vacum... is this normal?

Vacuum, or pressure? It's a pressurised system and should vent when you open the cap.

Now you have me wondering................. it sounded like it was under a vacum..... and sucking air into the tank..................but................. maybe it was venting air out???????????

the fuel pump pressurezes the fuel line not the tank.gas is being sucked out of the tank causing a low pressure. When u open the filler cap the pressure equalizes (vaccum) It is normal.
