Default Fuel Pump needed when swapping DOHC VTEC?

I've heard both that it doesn't make a difference using either a single cam fuel pump and a DOHC VTEC fuel pump. I just want to know for sure. I've also heard that using the stock fuel pump when dynoing leans out at high RPM. If anyone has definite info on this subject, I'd be very greatful.

Also, while still on Fuel pumps, Single cam & non vtec b series put out 79lph while a DOHC VTEC fuel pump puts out 130lph. Then there are Walbro units that put out from 190 to 255 lph. This is info I found while searching just to let people see the differences.

Your car will be fine with the stock pump, but realize that it's an old, probably tired unit that could be on its last legs. I've done three swaps now, and in two cases the pump died soon after finishing the swaps. The third swap, we didn't even bother finding out if the pump would die. These are all on '88-'91 model cars, BTW. I'm using a Holley 190lph pump now.
