1993 Honda Civic CX stock motor (D15B8)

My local performace shop installed a regulator on my stock motor. . .he increased the pressure about 2-3psi above stock. . .could this increase cause rough idle/sputtering at stop lights?

Also. . .what are the disadvantages to increasing my idle to about 1,000 RPM. . .my car seems to idle smoother with the increase in RPM's.

 

The disadvantage is your stock engine doesnt need extra fuel period. A high idle wont correct a fuel problem just your idle.

 

I have heard that if an engine is running "rich" i.e too much fuel. . .then it could cause the engine to feel like it is "bogging" when it is at a stand still.

So if I set my fuel pressure regulator back to stock specs, and I still have a rough idle what could be my problem?

Is there any disadvantage to increasing my idle?
