Default fuel in oil, good compression.

Like the title says I have fuel mixing with my oil. I think its running super rich (want to buy a wideband but don't really have $120 to spend at the moment). I did an engine swap (d16y7) which came out of my buddy's car and it was healthy, didn't smoke. We replaced the oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, rear main seal, throttle body gasket, intake mani gasket. We swapped over a y8 intake and exhaust mani in the process also, and we used a Zerg "thermal gasket", I also used my y7 throttle body and flipped the throttle spring around. My buddy pulled off the y7 fuel rail and polished it up and he took scotch brite to the outside casing of the fuel injectors(y7) to clean them up. I'm almost certain he didn't mess them up, he's a careful person and knows not to mess with injectors. We swapped the other (my old motor's) fuel injectors back into the new motor and I changed the oil three times to clean out all of the fuel. Within a few miles the engine started smoking, I changed the plugs out again and two of them fouled up a bit after a few miles of driving. I'm out of ideas, I looked over the y8 mani and the hoses look like they're in the right spots and we changed out the pcv valve. I also did a compression test and got good numbers (about 180 in each cylinder).

Few things we replaced/used : D16y7 engine, y8 intake and exhaust mani, Zerg "thermal intake gasket", y7 throttle body, rear main seal, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, excedy oem spec clutch, fidanza 7.5lb flywheel, new plugs and wires.

Is the check engine light on? OBD1 or OBD2? If its OBD2 then scan it.

Does the car have an oxygen sensor?

Are your old injectors also Y7 injectors? Y7 are 190cc, Y8 are 240cc.

Sounds to me like it's dumping fuel due to a bad oxygen sensor or MAP.

Default Re: fuel in oil, good compression.

It's obd2, 97 5spd civic with a 98 5spd d16y7. It doesn't have a CEL. We swapped the intake mani and exhaust mani from a y8. I got an auto intake mani from the junk yard (heard from forums it's recommended to use the auto one) and I used the y7 throttle body (also recommended to use). I used the y7 injectors, fuel rails and fuel pressure regulator. We actually swapped out the injectors and dizzy from my old engine in hopes that would solve the problem but it didn't.

We did swap a y8 exhaust mani with y pipe on it but the rest of it is the stock y7 exhaust. So I plugged the o2 in the harness but it's zip tied by my trans side mount since there's no where to thread it in since I don't have the y8 cat.

Im thinking I might have to do a leak down test on it.

thank you for the reply!
