Default Head work, got any ideas?

I have a friend that I just talked to about the wonders of head work. He wants a couple of questions answered that I didn't know, so I turn to the experts here.

#1. Do they even have aggressive cams for SOHC D series vtec engines?
#2. Beyond a p&p, full head job ( no pun intended...valvetrain, camshafts, springs, retainers, and gears) is there anything else that could be done to push 40 + whp???
#3. If he is thinking about turbo later, what would you all recommend for now, to increase his fun?

Thanks in advance...

#1: Not the D17's. Since they were VTEC-E. (Even EX...don't argue this with me).
#2 Yes, Turbo. I would not use Nitrous because it will blow up your intake manifold.
#3 Yup.

Bonus, you could always swap a K series motor if you have the money.
Hasport has a kit for sale.

It's not a joke. Plastic intake manifolds don't flex well when heated then cooled then heated then cooled.

I know people running 150hp and larger shots of nitrous on them, so what you are saying doesn't immediately make any sense to me. How do you know that wasn't a nitrous backfire?

Ummm... well thanks I guess....I'll give him the bad news...

P.S. Do you know if they have solved the no-return fuel line?

It was an abuse of Nitrous.....on, off, on, off, on, off.....constantly.

EDIT: No, they have not solved the returnless fuel system. Tampering with it is illegal in all states.
