Default A friend has a crazy idea...........

Well my friend has a crazy idea, he is going to put a holley 4-barrell on his 1984 CRX. Which has a carb already. Now if anyone has already tried this, please tell me if it works.

As for me, my 1991 CRX Si, with a ZC satisfies my fix. But I need struts all around...which is the best riding struts out there....I am open to suggestions.

Thanks,

If you want to spend the extra money, the Koni Yellow's are the best.

A holley 4 barrel of any size is WAY TOO MUCH CARBURETOR FOR THAT ENGINE.

If you want wild carburation, go with a DGV Downdraft Weber for a mild increase, or go with a DCOE style dual sidedraft configuration for the most you'll get out of the EW engines.

Running with no timing cover looks like fun.

There's no debris issues if that's what you're implying. Besides that the belt tension gets checked once a week and I never have to second guess on my belt condition, so I really have no use for plastic that gets in the way of those two checks.

Not directly, you would have to fabricate a manifold, but when it comes down to it, those carbs are not very tunable without having them IT prepped, which would be necessary since they're jetted for an engine with quite a noticably larger displacement than you find in a CRX. IMO, they just aren't worth the trouble and price, given the age and condition that you'd find used ones in now. I also wouldn't go for Weber knockoffs [dellortos/mikunis], mostly out of personal preference, but in the case of the dellortos, parts support can be difficult, whereas with a Weber, if you have the main body, you can still buy every other part needed to rebuild it quite easily.
