Default flywheel question for gsr motor

I bought an ACT streetlite flywheel for my 94 gsr motor and installed it, but the instructions never said anything about TDC. There was a machined marking on the flywheel that I will assume is a TDC marking. One of my buddies says that the flywheel needs to be installed TDC and I am finding conflicting stories on the net. What is the correct way? Does it matter?

The "machined mark" is probably a result of the balancing process. TDC shouldn't matter with a flywheel because it is balanced.
