flywheel performance?
Well i have a b16a1 in my 88 HF rex and was wondering if me and my friend are overrating the flywheel, i have a 7.5 lb cm fly. We got a ride in a itr and it goes through the gears faster then mine, he also had a lighter fly, also i have just a filter over my throttle body, need to get a cai, is a flywheel really noticeable, or did the shop raped me and my cash and just left the stock fly and decided to steel my CM?? I mean the performance is right were it should be, but i dont think it revvs that fast for a 7.5 lb fly, maybe its just my imagination or i expected too much
(btw this is hybrider93's friend)

There are two ways that you can tell for sure if you have the CM flywheel.
You can pull the tranny off and see what you have, that is the hard way.
The easy way is to pull the flywheel inspection plate off from behind the flywheel and look at it to see what one it is. The CM flywheel is unmistakeable. I know that because I have one.
The revs are definately faster than with the stock 18 lb. flywheel, but it isnt going to make a gigantic night and day difference either.
I suggest you pull that plate off and see if they screwed you.

how do u do that?
Also someone told me a good test is too revv high at nuetral and see if the rpms fall fast, and it does...i still wanna make sure.

You need to remove the front and rear engine stiffeners to get the clutch cover off. It is really easy and you can get it off in under 10 minutes, even when you dont know what you are doing.
I would recommend that you get a shop manual of some sort to guide you through it. I always recommend the helms over anything else.
Check out this link to the section of the helms manual that will show you how to do it... http://blackteg0.tripod.com/helms/12.pdf. The part you need is on page 13-6

I keep forgetting I have the non-Fidanza CM anodized blue one.
I got a peek of it when I changed my oil pan gasket.
Definately revs quicker, stalls easier, must rev match more precisely, something my dad couldnt drive (he taught me how to shift). Jump starts are wayy easier. You only have to get the car moving an inch, and pop the clutch it'll start!
