Default Flood Car Electronics

Hi Everybody,
I'm new here and could use some help. I bought a 2010 Acura TSX flood car in order to fix up and drive for myself. I have about $6000 in it so far however cannot get it started and am wondering if putting any more money in it will be worth it. What I've changed so far includes:
1. Drivers and passengers under dash fuse boxes. (both new)
2.ECU. I still have the original and bought a used one for $100 so not sure if the original is working or not.
3.Immobolizer.
4.Gauge module (new)
At this point, I have not been able to connect the HDS to the DLC. I took it to Acura and they charged me $160 just to tell me they could'nt connect. I've tried disconnecting the modules (SRS,EPS,Audio etc) in case one of these is pulling the communications buss down but still no luck.
I have the Mitchell on line manual so have all wiring diagrams etc.
Does anybody know how to isolate and troubleshoot the communications harness and components?
