flapper valve for secondary intake runners
Guys....... give me some advise on a way to figure out if my flapper valve is =
working. I have boosted 4th gen Vtec, and have reason to believe that my =
FV is not working. I see no movement of the diaphram while reving the =
engine .Does the car have to be in motion for this to operate? Also when =
vacum is applied to the diaphram does it pull the butterflys open, or =
are they normally open and the diaphram pulls the valve closed? If the =
diaphram pulls the valve closed there should be vac in the diaphram line =
at idle up to 4900 rpm. Am I correct? There is no vac in my line =
(between the diaphram and solenoid) at idle.
Please shed some light on this for me.

If you have no reason to suspect it doesnt work assume it does. The ecu tells the solenoid when to open. It will allow vaccum from its reserve to activate the diaphram. The car must be moving for this to happen. The solenoid is vented otherwise so at idle there shouldnt be any vaccum in the hose.
