Flakey fuel pump....help
I have a 91 crx HF and lately my fuel pump stoped working, I droped the tank and tested the pump which turned out to be fine. Then I noticed the wiring was spliced together and coroded so I cut the wires about 3 inches from the pump and as far back twards the front of the car as needed (about 2 feet) I replaced the wire with some good stuff from a old harness I had, and added a connector so it would be easier to drop the tank in the future it was a male female connector. I put the tank back up and hooked the return and flow line up backwards on mistake, then primed the pump about 5 times to no avail, so I switched the lines and the car started right up. I drove the car up my driveway ( about a mile long, bumpy) and shut the car off. I went out about an hour later and it would prime and start for about 3 seconds them die. and now the pump will not work at all, when I first hooked the pump up it sounded great but then It sounded weak. could this be because of the wiring or because the return line is pluged? could the pump have burned out? or is there too much presure in the lines?
thanks in advance, Matt

Check the main relay under your dash. This also runs the tank. They fail intermittent at times causing the problem you described. It sounds stupid but bang on it with a wrench or something when cranking. If it starts when you hit it then you found your problem. If it doesnt, then monitor the 12v wire at the tank. If you have 12 v's when cranking and your pump isnt running then yor pumps the problem,
