Default First thing to do when wanting more speed

I have a 2000 civic ex all stock except intake and exhaust. Wondering the first thing that should be replaced by a performance part to increase horsepower. People have told me the intake manifold or get a racing head. I have been told other things, but am not sure what to do. Can anyone help...

Don't shell out the money for a racing head yet, thats a bit overkill for someone new. You've already got the basics such as intake and exhaust, now how about a header? A better flowing intake manifold would be a good idea too. Skunk2 makes'em so check them out. With all these mods though you'll still wont make enough power to beat others with B series swaps so if your serious about going fast then its a good idea to save money and get a B series motor.

the price of an header, intake, and exhaust is equivalent to that already.

just remeber u get what u pay for ive bought 2 sets of headers couple years ago for another project of mine from ssautochrome it was an excellent price but the flange thickness was really thin compared to your name brands that bothered me , then the chrome finish wasnt great , not to big of a deal to me . I have some complaints but they were CHEAP and work good enough for now

If you have a civic, the FIRST thing you should do is take pics of your intake and post it in the EG/Civic Del Sol forum, then when your thread reaches 30 pages of thumbs ups, post pics of your exhaust....hehehe hope this stops the endless intake threads in that forum.. ok seriously, save up for a swap or some kind of power package for your current motor.
