Default First B20 run

I just ran my b20vtec setup in my 93 civic si today for the first time at the track. It was a cold one today at 47 degress so traction was kinda hard to get from the slicks. My best time was a 13.70 at 99.6 mph. I had recently upgraded the type r head with SKunk2 stage 2 cams, valve springs and retainers. I am running at 12.5-1 compression and have 310cc injectors. I have a feelin that i just need to take it to the dyno for some fine tuning and then get it back out on the track. Let me know your input??

What size slicks are you running, and what was your best 60' time?

Get the tuning asap. The 99.6mph is not good for your set-up.

BTW, what ECU are you running???

Well I don't see any big problems with your numbers, but yes you should definitely get it to a dyno to see what the motor is capable of. Mid to high 13's at nearly 100 mph are definitely respectable, and about right as far as expected performance goes. I'd imagine the car is putting down right about 200whp. Either that or it's heavier than I imagine.

What sort of mph did you expect him to run, and what sort of power output do you think this motor has?

Then that's about 190-200whp, give or take a few (and give or take a few pounds).

If you need it to be tuned, you need something that can be tuned to your specific setup. Hondata or an EMS come to mind, not a chipped/hacked Honda ECU. A proper dyno tune with a properly adjustable ECU is the only thing that will allow you to optimize your setup.

ok those numbers are kind of off especially at 12.5 compression you should be at low 13's at least but i dunno, i am running b20, b16 head type R cams putting down 182 to the ground, and on a 90 degree day with 13X5 inch rism and sears tires i hit 13.9's, but my v-afc is also tuned so that could be it

indeed at that compression and displacement the P30 just won't cut it. it runs dead lean even on LS/VTECs. my suggestion is larger injectors or chip the P30 or get a P28/P08 thats chipped. (check my sig )
