Final drive swap question
well my question is i have a gsr transmission on my b20/v rite now , the teeth on the ring gear and mainshaft both are shreaded off ,so iam going to swap in my B16 ring gear and mainshaft will this change anything with the tranny ,like will i still be at the same mph at a certain rpm as i was with the gsr one , will i still be at the same rpm at say 60mph(just an example) as i was with the gsr one , if it will change anything what would be different , TIA

the parts circled in green are the parts the teeth are shreeded down smoth , so you guys are saying i need that whole shaft that gear and a B16 diff to run in my GSR tranny , or i can simply buy that whole shaft and that gear from a ITR and i could use my gsr diff

the bolt pattern for the ring gear to the diff ? if it helps at all the ring gear and mainshaft are from a B16 tranny with a big black S4 stamp on the caseing, can anyone else confirm if this is correct ? or if anyone here has done this
if you have a gsr transmission currently...
- the diameter of the bolt holes holding the ring gear to the differential, is a larger diameter than the B16 ring gear/differential.
- you will need another GSR ring gear or an ITR ring gear.(or use the b16 diff & ring gear)
- the pinion shafts are identical between the B16/GSR/ITR transmissions.

They are both 4.400:1 final drives, so nothing will change. But if you use the B16 stuff, you will need to use the B16 diff, and remove the old GSR diff bearing races (if they are not the closed bearings). Double check the clearance for the new diff's bearings as well.
ok yea a guy is selling me the pinnion shaft with everything still pressed on it (which) iam getting all my gsr parts pressed on the B16 pinion shaft )and the ring gear so all i need to buy from him additionally is the B16 diff and i can use the ring gear , pinion shaft and diff from the B16 in my gsr and everything will work rite , ?

the whole inside of a tranny is a new beast to me haha , iam having a friend who builds them for a living assemble it , i just need to make sure i get the correct parts , i dont exactly like wasiting money on the wrong parts

what you need.
b16 pinion shaft
4.4 ring gear with matching differential.
since you are getting the b16 ring gear, you either need an LS differential, or the B16 differential.

thanks so the ring gear and pinion shaft are the parts in the picture in my first post correct ? if they are the rite parts , if i were to order those 2 parts from a 4.4 ITR tranny i could use my gsr diff correct ?
