Fast and furious civics
why in the hell would you want to put a wing on your car?
i thought the purpose was to help the car sit closer to the ground,
not fly away.
please do not call a spoiler a wing.

A spoiler is an extension of the rear decklid "stick-on" style, designed to reduce drag. A wing is elevated above the rear deck such that air passes both over and under it, generating lift (but it's turned over so we call it downforce).

Ok, here's the tech for this post...
In order to "body lift" an 18 wheeler trailer, you'll need at least 60 feet of 6" to 10" I-beam steel, a block torch, and a few BIG bolts and nuts.
I had my car SLAMMED, i'm talking like 2 inches down on my 16's and my 91 SI wouldn't fit under a normal tractor trailer trailer that was on an unside down V incline... meaning I had MORE room than normal ground...
Those civic's were probably 3-5 inches taller than my hatch at that point, so NO WAY NO HOW any street car would fit under anything but a jacked up *** logging trailer, like in "National lampoon's Christmas Vacation"
Excellent Movie, HIGHLY underrated!

notice how under those 18 wheeler trailers they didnt have all the big support beams and other stuff you would normally see under trailers? special effects man....
all i gotta say.....
all i gotta say.....
dude, the wings aren't designed to produce lift, theyre designed to produce downforce. therefore making the car stick to the ground better. think of it as a airplane wing upside down.

My cousin's 91 CRX could have fit, probably would need to lower it about anoher inch, and then he could clear the bottom of a normal semi.

Try not to call a wing a spoiler, either.

Just to add onto this, yes there is a tradeoff between drag and downforce - you can't technically "convert" drag into downforce, but if you're extracting work (downforce) from the air passing over the car, it does result in some additional drag.
There are a couple of "functional" wings on production cars... the Supra wing comes to mind, produces something like 60 lbs of downforce at 80 mph... not bad; you get a sack of concrete worth of additional grip in the back with no actual extra weight pulling the back end out of a corner...

hahahah.......no sorry. Those wings are not for down force. They are for getting attention!!

the style of wing on those black civics is the gtr battle/combat wing.... there is also a terminator 2 wing which is the exact same. The difference between the battle & combat wings are how far apart the mounting holes are.
well first off it looked like a terminator 2 but why would you want to put that on your car it looks horrible and it is not a true functional spoiler i would bet that it doenst produce any downforce but im sure you would get some looks what kind of looks im not sure but you would get some
I do see some trailers on the highway without that large beam most seam to have running the length underneath, and I think it is possible on some trailers with a severely lowered car.
