are the depth of these tires typically less than normal tires even when new?

depth? i dunno wat u talkin about. all i could say these tires are da bombs. THey good in handling cornering, good lauches, sticky as hell, and cheap for what u get. Def recommend these bad boys

If they are as sticky as everyone says, then I would say that the tread depth would probably be less than normal and they will wear out rather quickly.

He means tread depth usually measured in 32nds. All tires come rated at a certain 32nds when they are new then you can use that to base what percentage of the tire is worn.

Normal depth is 10 or 11 32nds. Azenis are 8 32nds. Yes, they are shallower. Too bad for such a soft tire, it would still handle great if it were a little taller!
