just picked up a used 94 b18b ls motor. everything looks clean, motor turns over free no scoring on cams or any journals. even the cyl walls have no real signs of wear or damage.
however the inner part of the sleeves is sitting just a tiny bit higher up than the outer part. i dont think ive ever noticed it like this before. is it normal or what.. take a look

i did pour a bunch of oil in each cyl and turn the motor over to coat the cyl walls, and you can kinda see it in the pics so that what that is.
is this motor in some trouble?

All cylinders but some seem worse than others. No machine shop I picked it up last night for cheap off craigslist. I got it to rehone/rering and just keep as a spare because the ls in my daily driver is getting old and I can't afford a lot of downtime if it craps out on me. I really was lookin to not bring it to a shop and just take care of it myself

maybe, but the inside of the sleeves dont show any signs of piston to wall wear or contact that would indicate excessive heat. i almost seems like they are separating...
warpage i can deal with, get it decked and then its true again
