you will mess up the threads doing it that way, also why are you taking it off, oil coolers are good for the motor and performance. to take the normal filter stud out of the block on the d16 your gonna want to use a strap wrench or get two nuts that fit it, double nut it and wrench it off. if your gonna use vise grips and a rag be really care ful cause your probably gonna ruin the threads.
