FACTORY CLOSED DECK JDM B18A
WHATS UP PPL
I HAVE JUST ACQUIRED A FREE B18A ENGINE AND TRANNY AND LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON IT. IT IS A JDM B18A FACTORY CLOSED DECK AND WAS CARBURETED. IT HAD 2 DUAL VELOCITY CARBS ON IT AND SQAURE PORTS WITH LARGE VALVES. I AM LOOKING TO FIND WHAT THIS CAME OUT OF. I FOUND ONE THREAD ON ANOTHER BBS THAT SAID IT MIGHT BE FROM A JDM HONDA ACCORD EXL-S. BUT I CAN NOT FIND ANY OTHER INFORMATION ON IT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH TRANNY THIS IS (IT IS A CABLE TRANNY), THE GEAR RATIOS ON THE TRANNY AND IF THIS WOULD MOUNT INTO A 1995 ACURA INTEGRA SE OR WOULD NEED FABRICATION.
THANK U FOR THE HELP

sounds interesting indeed. to put this engine into a 95 se would be a bit backwards, though, in my opinion. whatever floats your boat.
as far as installation, at minimum you will need a hydro/cable conversion bracket. you could go ahead and rip your ecu out as well. i'm not 100% certian on the motor mounts, so i won't put any false info out there.

THANKS FOR REPLYING.
1ST. HOW DO YOU POST PICS HERE, AS I AM NEW TO THIS BBS
2ND. I SHOULD FIRST CLARIFY MYSELF, I DO NOT WANT TO PUT THE COMPLETE ENGINE IN MY CAR. I WANT TO USE THE BLOCK AND HEAD. I WILL FABRICATE A CUSTOM SHEETMETAL INTAKE MANIFOLD AND SS TURBO MANIFOLD.
I GOT THIS ENGINE, BECAUSE I REBUILT A SET OF HEADS FOR A FRIEND. IT WAS SITTING IN HIS SHOP FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. I CANNOT GET ANY INFORMATION ON THIS ENGINE. THIS ENGINE BLOCK IS VERY STOUT. IT HAS A CLOSED DECK, NODULAR IRON MAIN CAPS, FULL MAIN GIRDLE. I WOULD MAINLY LIKE TO KNOW THE MOUNTING DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE B18A AND B18B. I BELIEVE THIS TRANNY TO BE VERY HIGH GEARED. I AM GOING TO OPEN THE TRANNY NEXT WEEK, AND WILL CHECK IT OUT.

chill on da caps yo!
you have access to a digital camera? snap some pics and show use what this engine looks like. Sounds like you really might have an older (pre90) accord engine, but pics would be best......
to post pics, you need to upload your pictures to some web server you have access to (such as geoties, etc). Then, when you reply or create a new post on here, you'll see a toolbar below that has a few buttons, click on the 'image' button and [IMG][/IMG] will pop up in the text box -- now copy and paste the URL of your uploaded picture in between those tags, and presto..you're picture should show up..
