f22b1 questions.
I also posted this in the Accord forum.
Ok My cousin recently traded his 88 crx si for a 91 Accord Coupe EX w/ spare f22b1(vtec) motor out of a 96 ex coupe.
Here are my ?s
1. If he were to sell the f22b1 w/ tranny and ecu, how much could he get for it.
2. Is it possible to put the f22b1 head w/ vtec onto the f22 block already in the 91? The 91 block has higher compression and I feel that just swapping motors for an additional 15 hp would not be worth it, that's why I thought of putting the vtec head on the non vtec block.
Thanks in advance. And for the record I had told him to keep the crx.

A1:
it all depends on the buyer, but $400-600 for complete setup is usually a norm (finding a buyer is a harder quest)
A2.
most likely it will work with the block but remeber that there could be some problems with valve/piston clearance as they non-vtec might have different angles at which valve operates. even if you get 1 point higher this is only 5-10whp at most as far as power. i would personally swap the motor and tranny, for the ecu it would be easier to use a P28.
if he wants more gains, look into a H22A - more then 50hp difference
