f22a in an eg?
i've recently came across a full f22a swap for $250. i was planning on putting it in a 94 dx hatch and throwing a turbo on it. i'm not too worried about building this motor for the turbo, cause i'm only paying 250 for it, and i know that it already has steel sleeves and horribly long gears. my question is how hard would it be to put this thing in the eg? about as hard as an h series motor? more/less?
i've never heard of people doing it in a eg because most people just do h22's. i really don't want to put much money in this car cause it's just a beater. like i said i'm only going to be paying $250 bucks for the whole swap so i figured what the hell.
I wouldnt do it. It hasnt been done for a reason. even if only 250. you would need tranny, engine mounts, ecu, harness converios etc. it will add up. where do you live? I might have a D15B 1.5L SOHC VTEC for sale withing the next month and a half. Everything for $500 or you can just go to a motor import place by where you live for $450 and use your tranny since it bolts right up. You;ll just need a ecu and wire up vtec. so simple.
it would be just like doing a h swap.
I would say go for it
very original
And it would be fun to drive around...mmm torque
you can just chip your stock computer to run the f22

I agree.
I have also seen an F23/EG.

H-series mounts should work, possibly an h-series tranny? Im not sure about that one, but it would be sweet.
Just like an H swap, only single cam. Loads of enely distrubuted torque, even in a pudgy accord.

I have an F22 in an EK, you will use the same mounts as an H22 swap. You will need a rear H22 mount, and you will need to tap 2 holes in the F22 trans to mount the trans mount. Aside from that the wiring and everything else should be the same as any H22 swap.
i think i'm goin to at least try, the $250 is for everything, engine, ecu, wiring harness, tranny, even engine mounts, pretty much everything from the dash forward. i mean what the hell right? might be fun to do something different.

I'd definately go for it, however keep in mind that the wiring harness may or may not need to be extended (mine needed to) you'll need new axles, the f22 mounts won't work so they are useless to you (except driver side mount). You looking at atleast another $500 for a good set of mounts hasport etc, and axles.
