F22 engine with Fuel pressure regulator
What is the best FPR to use. I have put in a CAI, headers, and exhaust and have read that at open throttle... which is where I'm at all the time... needs to have an increase in fuel pressure to correct the lean running of the engine. Is there anyway to increase pressure without a regulator. I'm sure someone knows a trick...I hope?!
I figured it would be best to buy one. AEM $200...FPR conversion kits $150... 50-60 bucks... never seen it..don't really care about price. What I really want to know is does my mods to the engine warrant the installation and what are the performance enhancements...realistically. 2hp.. 3hp. That's what I really wanna know.
Before you buy a FPR get a A/F meter. You can buy one for about $50, and build one for considerably less. they will give you a good idea of weather or not you have the lean condition you think you might have. whats more, running excessively rich is'nt the best way to make power either, so you need to see how much to turn the pressure up if you do get the FPR.
Where would i find info on creating an a/f meter. Also, if i notice that my plugs are light in color and somewhat dry after an open throttle run. Im assuming its lean. I think im going to get the AEM FPR with the pressure gauge. Anyone know who also sells an A/F. Last but not least what are some HP gains if any. 1hp...2hp...3hp
Damn, thats my bad. I price check all my stuff for my car at http://www.b17a.com. The FPR there for my car is only $64, but I checked Carparts.com and their's was like $180. Go figure. The best way to get the most hp out of your FPR is to dyno tune it. Thats what I plan on doing when I eventually get mine.
