F streetable, what's the highest compression for RACE?
Give me a figure for the highest compression I can run on a built C1 for drag race only. 14:1? 13:1? Spec C cams or maybe Skunk2 stage 3s
What valvetrain would be best?
EDIT: On gas

Not knowing, you, and not insulting you or anything... I would have to say that if you don't know, you prolly aren't ready for an engine like that...
All good. I don't know because I'm about to start my first engine like this. I've never looked into full race or considered getting into it so I never really bothered with it until now. Got a great deal on a gsr motor.
Gotta learn somewhere/sometime

Very true.. gotta learn someway! If I had to guess, for a beginner motor, I'd say in the neighbour hood of 14:1 would be a pretty good place to start... Like cheetah said, 17:1 could be atainable, but we're talking mad scientist ****... 12:1 is common on street, 13:1 is rare on street, but doable with good fuel, 14:1 doesn't exist on the street, and should be good for the track!!! Good luck!
i would think about staying around 12 to 1 so you can run GOOD premium street gas. think about after the project is done and you are broke, how are you going to be able to get the car to the track? you may have to drive it. do you really want to spend three bucks a gallon for race gas that you can only find at the track? i would try to keep it somewhat streetable. good luck.

Its a team of three including me so funds shouldn't be much of a problem.
found a blown gsr long block...all it really needs is a good resleeving and pistons. valvetrain needs some work too. was gonna do this to my existing c1 but what the hell, might as well make my drag car now
$50 for the motor!!
$50 for the motor!!
Hmmm... a new project eh? Is your current car going to become a trailer queen in the near future then?

You guys must be sponsored by bill gates or something. 11 sec race car and a 12 second street car? Hmmm, I wonder how the microsoft logo would look on the side of your car?
If you source an older issure of honda tuning, they featured an article discussing some of teh fastest all motor hondas. They mention that some cars were running as high as 16.1
Hope you know a good tuner
good luck
