Default Exhaust question: resonator

I am about to have all new pipe run for my exhaust, replacing stock H23 '92 Prelude Si exhaust. Header is already on, have a 2.5" Magnaflow cat and a Megan tip (pic below). My question --> I am not a big fan of obnoxious exhaust, so would I need a resonator to tone it down a bit? My tip has silencers, just not sure I really want to use them b/c it would seem they restrict flow.

EDIT: Just to give all info, my motor is stock H23 bottom w/vtec head.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

A good resonator should provide no additional back pressure than having a straight pipe in the same diameter, and will kept quiet out some of the more obnoxious sounds. Find a good quality exhaust shop and ask to see one, you can look straight through them.

Ok, so I got my exhaust all put on with the muffler pictured above. Let me just say this - without the silencers, this thing is LOUD!. I wasn't even geting on it and it was so loud it shook everything not bolted down, even some of the stuff that was. With the silencers, it is much more acceptable. Just a tad louder than stock and growls really nice. I would not recommend running w/out the silencers if you don't want to attract every cop in a 3-mile radius (I live less than a mile from the city PD). Other than that, I'm very happy with it and the 2.5" Magnaflow hi-flow cat.

I'd put a proper chambered muffler, they wont restrict airflow as much as people assume.
