Default exhaust question

I have a 98 civic ex and my friend sais that he knows someone that will make me cat back pipeing for around 250 and then i could just buy a muffler. would this be as good as a greddy exhaust system? or should i just save up and buy a full cat back exhaust like greddy?

No it will not be as good as the greddy system. They make there systems as a unit and test them before the mass produce them.

But, it will be cheaper. and "almost" as efficient.

definitely get aftermarket exhaust of some type. you want to get the strong piping that comes w/ Greddy, Apexi, Tanabe, etc...w/ built in resonator....i don't think any muffler shop can do qaulity like these names carry. i guess that's why they cost a lot of $$.

Spend the extra $ on a real cat back system. Not GReddy though. Too many better choices out there in my opinion.

APEXi World Sport...$400 or Thermal R&D...$450.

Most cost on avergae of $500. I just don't like GReddy products that much. I prefer Tanabe and APEXi.

I have Tanabe RM and love it. Got it for $475.

Is 2.5 inch pipings too big for NA car?? Currently I just have CAI and I'm getting 2.5 inch pipings from a OBX catback and putting on a Apexi N1 muffler
