Exhaust Question ? ? ?
I am about to upgrade my exhaust system but have come upon the question of either going 2.5 or 2.25. I currently drive a stock b16 in a 93 hatch.
I have asked people and read many posts about what others have done but does anyone have any dynos proving what is better? Some people say 2.5 is fine others say its too big and will hurt performance.
I plan on getting a 4-1 header and have been also debating if I should get the JDM version since it has the 2.5 inch collector.
So can anyone clarify if going 2.5 will hurt more than it will help in a stock B16?

How much HP do you plan to put down to the wheels when you are done moding?
If you don't think you will hit 200hp or more then stick with the 2.25"
2-1/4" up to 210HP @ the flywheel (about 180-185 whp)
2-3/8" (60mm) up to 235HP @ the flywheel (about 200-207 whp)
2-1/2" up to 265HP @ the flywheel (about 225-235 whp)
2-3/4" up to 325HP @ the flywheel (about 275-285 whp)
3" big for big HP (Forced Induction: > 275 whp)
2-3/8" (60mm) up to 235HP @ the flywheel (about 200-207 whp)
2-1/2" up to 265HP @ the flywheel (about 225-235 whp)
