Default Excessive vibration with new engine...

It's a 95 JDM GSR engine in my 92 DX hatch. I used a single ES insert for the upper driver's side mount. The car now rattles like a somofabitch. side mirrors blurr beyond use... etc. Is this due to the single ES mount insert or possibly something else?

Thanks fellas,

-Nick-

mount or the fact that your engine isn't set in properly or the mount bolts are not tight or even broke! if it runs rough than it might be cross wired......but you might have a cv bad or not in properly?

It doesnt vibrate THAT much... just enough that things like the cupholders vibrate and the mirrors vibrate enough to blur etc etc. ES = Energy Suspension, as in a polyurethane mount insert.

I just did the swap so im 99% sure all the bolts are properly torqued and intact. Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Does the vibration go away if you turn the A/C off ?

I have the same mount.. and the vibration is slightly higher than the stock mount with the A/C off and the radiator fans off... the min. they kick on it RATTLES the whole car..

I have the same inserts in my ITR, I can't see a clear picture through my rearview and side mirror at low RPMs.

That's the way it supposed to be. ES engine mount insert transfers all the vibration directly to your car chassis. It just a bit less vibration compare to solid mounts.

Strange - I have all 3 inserts in mine (just did a swap as well), and although it does vibrate, it is not as bad as everyone was telling me it would be - keep in mind, I have all 3 inserts, not just the front two or the rear. I do feel vibration when stopped, some times more than others, but overall it is not nearly as bad as yours sounds - never seen a mirror blur. Maybe the actual mounts are bad?

I really think it also depends on what car you have. My ITR's chassis is already stiffer stock than some cars and when the ES mounts are in place, you can see the mirror blurring. It doesn't feel bad though, just a slight vibration.
