with that type of set up , you should expect more then 200 whp . some friends of mine are running ls/vtec set up with just b16 head p&p (portflow) us itr pistons ctr cams and there running close to 200whp about 195whp ! and did not spent that much .

1. I asked here because over in the normal integra department, they are mainly interested in what neon color looks best....

2. The block has been resleeved, there is no port or polished head on this, they quoted me a price of 12500 with the port and polish by portflow, smsp header, and JUN valvetrain......

so there are charging you 3000 in top of that for p&p (portflow)750
sms header 900
jun valvetrain 600

well did you do a search for the pricing on the parts and with labor to see if its not to much ?

no there is more involved, thats the main thing. I tell you, i have been talking to jeff at importbuilders.com, he said the package 2 will net around 200 whp, for 9400 and the stage 3 which costs 12500, will net around 225 whp but they ahve seen them make 240+ whp.....What do you think?

jeff has a good rep on this board, so if he thinks its gonna make that much then it will. just make sure u price things out urself to see how much U can build a comparable motor for. the last thing u wanna do is buy the motor, and regret that u overspent down the road.

TurboR481,

Just because we own ITRs does not mean that one would not be interested in a LS/VTEC setup. Please try to be open minded. An ITR with a LS/VTEC with the same mods as your B18C5 will walk all over your ITR. And YES LS/VTECs can be built reliable. I have built a few that run 12's (even in a Civic coupe) and are still around and running strong today

To get back on topic...I hope the block is sleeved. With the mods you mentioned the motor sounds like it will run strong if built right.

Give Jeff at Import Builders a try. http://www.importbuilders.com See what kind of pricing he offers. Also, try talking to Greg Samaroooooooooo vtec4gs@aol.com to find out if he can help you out. Always shop around...

Kenji, That is who im talking to, just trying to get some information for prices and what the performance would be like, the motor will have a balanced crank, sleeved block, tranny with lsd, pretty well everything to run.....I really need a good header tho, Im going to try to get the smsp over either the dc jdm and JG edlebrock header, what are your opinions....

integra2000
does it has to be ls/vtec ?
ericks racing 2.0l made 215whp on a gsr block set up !
to spend that much money you should really look in to doing a search .as what a complete list of parts go in to it and price them out to see if it adds up.

i think its a good idea. especially since ur motor is a heavily tuned motor, u will benefit from a better breathing header. when u talk to jeff, ask him about the JG header he made with a 2.5" flange..he stated it had considerable gains.

I like the idea of the lsvtec, plus it's unexistant here so you can say I like to be different.....I think the big thing is the porting, which I can get done later on .....

if you can do all at ones since you are building the motor and that way get it tuned and you do not have to mess with it !
thats cool about the ls/vtec . there some fast set ups out there

Yeah, Im just not sure if 200 whp is enough, It's my daily driver, well sort of, I drive the car alot, i now have a vehicle for work so the integra is solely for pleasure........I know im only lacin down about 120 to the wheels now, but i want to run low 13's with full interior and street tires.....on slicks I want 12's...... Think I can do that with the 200 whp or so..?

friend of mine is running b18c1 with b16a pistons ,ctr cams and some good tunning and his making around 180whp .with a full interior on a integra he is running 13.6(slick down) at best and also he is a really good driver .so over 200whp and some good sticky tires like bf goodrich with 0 tread wear should have you around mid 13's

Well i got my little b18b with only a airbox mod with no k&n into 15.9 so i figure that im pretty good at driving, also i do alot of back road carving, so i know my poo poo, so i figure 13.3 to 13.0 with that motor, on street tires (falken azenis).....

You might need practice. I did 15.4 with my 92 RS with only a cold air intake. My friend has a BONE STOCK 96 RS and he did a few 15.7 passes. Its all in the launch.
Your set up seems very interesting. I'm staying non-vtec tho, getting crower cams 404s and a b20z block. I now have a full cat back exhaust, just need a good 4-1 header and hope to see mid to high 14s non-vtec powah

Thanks xxplosif1,

What do you do at launch, I drop a 4000, get a little wheel spin, not much, and then just power shift, hit rev limiter a little after the end in 4th.....let me know, anything to better my times!

to me the ls/vtec motors have plenty of potential but they are way to much money.

$9400 for a ~200 whp and what 150 ftlbs?? not worth it IMO.

I launch at about 3500-4000 rpm, i slip the clutch big time. I did 3 times 15.4 @ about 88-89 mph. I did 2.2 for my 60'. Next summer i'll try to launch a bit higher.

I tried everything that day, i tried to shift all my gears at 6500 rpm and the results we'rent good at all. With an LS you want to shift just before the rev limiter everytime. Some people say its better to shift at 6500 or 6800 with an LS....bullpoo poo, i tried it and it doesnt work for me.

I'm shifting every gear at 7100 and it works great. If you hit the rev limiter you'll loose precious times. Remember, the LS tranny sucks in 3rd and 4th gear, you don't want to shift to early cause you'll get too low in your power band. Heres why a B16a or a GSR tranny do wonders for us.

Hope this helps.

Why not just go with CRVTEC, you will already have the 84mm bore. If you want to go bigger and add additional strength resleeve the block. CRVTEC is the shiet!
