Default evap removal question

if i remove the evap, the metal line going back to the fuelpump can stay open right? it would seem that it would not let anything in or out because it was dependent on the valve actuation to open up the release at the fuel tank right?

Correct. Or you can put a check valve on the end to keep things out the pipe.
